So it's Valentines Day over here where I am and I was wondering what I should write about. So I don't have a romantic interest and I find Valentines Day just a tad overrated. And no, that is not because I don't have anyone to spend it with. But it's just another day really. Just another Thursday, just with a few more pink and red, frilly things and hearts scattered where ever I go. Luckily living in Thailand it's not such a big deal as it apparently is in the States.
But since it is a 'festive' day today, I feel that I should write something relating to love. So what am in love with? Or who am in love with?
Well who I'm in love with is simple; my dad and mom, my brothers, my sister, my niece, basically my whole family. And I guess friends, except I more like them then love them.
Things that I'm love with... I guess I'm in love with my novel (The World in Orange, that I'm still editing), in love with my TV shows, movies, stuff like that. But it's not like real love. Like 'I'll give my life up for you' kind of love. It's more, 'I'll stand up for you when someone makes fun of you kind of love'.
Lots of people have different definitions of love. For some it's kind of a frivolous thing (even though they will claim it's 'real love'), for others it's a much more serious thing. Myself personally, saying 'I love you' is a very serious thing. Love is something that shouldn't be taken for granted. Girls and guys when you say 'I love you" today to your significant other be sure you mean it. Like really mean it. When you say 'I love you' you should mean "I want to be with you forever no matter what happens, no matter how many times we fight, because I love you that much." So yeah.... you've gotta mean it. Because love it a serious and powerful thing. And that's the power of love!
So I got a little sentimental while talking about love for a little while. But really, I hope you love birds out there enjoy your special time with your love! And those of us who are celebrating SAD (single's awareness day) we will be proud we are single, eat our own bought chocolates and watch those stupid romantic comedies! But in my case I'll be spending the rest of my Valentines Day studying and watching IT Crowd...
P.S. Watch the video, you'll love it!
Love,
EG
